St. Marys Minor Ball Association will be holding registrations for the upcoming season.
A sign-up desk will be placed in the lobby at the Pyramid Recreation Centre. Dates are Saturday, Feb. 6 from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and Tuesday, Feb. 9 from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
For early registrations, there will be a $10 discount.

NBC HOCKEY TOURNEY LOOKING FOR FOUR MORE TEAMS
St. Marys Minor Hockey Associaton will again be holding its annual Al Kennedy Memorial No-Body Contact tournament on Easter Weekend, Apr. 2-3.
Organizers are looking for four more teams, hoping to boost this year’s total to 28 teams in seven divisions. Last year, 23 teams (including a women’s division) took part.

ATTAC SWIMMERS QUALIFY FOR
WESTERN REGIONALS
At the recent Julia Wilkinson Challenge Cup swim meet at the Pyramid Centre pool, Emma Beer and Jen Murray qualified for Western Regionals and will be attending the meet Feb. 5-7 in London.
They join fellow teammates Nicholas Dolan, Madelaine Duff, Lauren Manders, Megan Rohfritsch, Laura Schmitt, Paul and Kathleen Szirmay-Kalos and Emma Wylie.

SNO-PITCH ENTRY FORMS AVAILABLE AT STACEY’S PIZZA
Entry forms for this year’s annual St. Marys Sno-Pitch tournament can be picked up at Stacey’s Pizza, downtown St. Marys.
This year’s tourney is being held Saturday, Feb. 27, and is being run for the first time by the Optimist Club of St. Marys. For more information or to register your team, contact Bill Kittmer at 519-284-2067.

NOT MUCH INTEREST SHOWN IN UNDERWATER HOCKEY
Apparently, there will be no underway hockey played at the Pyramid Centre pool . . . at least not any time soon.
Russeldale resident Suzanne Noble said she only attracted interest from three local people recently.
Noble plays the sport in London, and was hoping to form a UWH team here in St. Marys.

FINNBILT NOVICES WIN HOCKEY DAY IN CANADA GAME SATURDAY
STRATFORD - On Saturday, Jan. 30, the Finnbilt ‘BB’ Novices were fortunate enough to be asked to participate in the Hockey Day in Canada festivities that took place in the Festival City.
The Rock lads faced off at the Allman arena at 6:30 in the morning against the Tavistock Novices.  
Evan Rice, Liam DeNeve, Julien Boyer, Dalton Lindsay and Curtis Topp scored for St. Marys in a memorable 5-0 victory. Joe Hutton assisted on two Rock goals, while Boyer, Jack Lucas and Jake Weston contributed one apiece.
Sean Slater and Zach Hall shared the shutout in net.
The Finnbilt Novices are back in action this weekend, travelling to Dorchester for a tournament.
