St. Marys was honoured recently by a visit from 160 of the leading horticulturalists of Western Ontario. A short program took place at the Town Hall, followed by the visitors being taken in cares for a drive around the town. They first visited the new Lind Park and marvelled that as much had been accomplished in the way of shrubs and and grass in such a short time. Other spots visited and admired were J. O. Mitchell’s rock garden, Lex Wilson’s fine rock garden at Ardmore Park; Westover Park, the property of Mrs. (Dr.) MacKay; the view of the river and town from Robinson St., the Children’s Playground, West Ward; Cadzow Park, J. G. Wolverton and W. N. Harrison’s garden, winding up with a view of Will McCauley’s lovely roses.
